Sashamon at Anahola Marketplace – “Help Feed Kauai” Food Drive

Lend a Helping Hand!

Anahola Marketplace will be hosting a food drive and free music festival to benefit the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27.

Sashamon, a local Kaua‘i recording artist and well-known performer, will top the musical bill. Other acts will be Fervor Record’s Dirk Debonaire and the Golden Nuggets plus long time Kauai favorites, Tropical Groove, (Haunani Kaui and Linda Tani). There is no cover charge, but a non-perishable food donation is requested. All food donations will go to the KIFB (Kauai Independent Food Bank) and will be used right here on Kaua‘i.

Kalaheo resident Mike Vallee launched the idea of this food drive/music festival about a month ago. Vallee, aka “Dirk Debonaire”, is a longtime musician and his other band, Da Funk, hosted a similar benefit for the Malama Kauai Food Charity earlier this year. Vallee, along with his band members, Kenji Juravic, Dennis Pierson, and Gaither Rosser, all agreed that organizing this food drive and music festival would be a good way to give back to the community.
